Maria Louise R. Querido is a Junior Associate of the firm. Her practice focuses on Corporate and Commercial Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Aviation, and Data Privacy.
Prior to joining the firm in 2021, Atty. Querido worked in Disini and Disini as a research assistant and in Ocampo and Manalo Law Firm (“OMLaw”) as an associate. In Disini and Disini, she assisted in the research on the regulation of financial technology, data privacy, and cybercrime, and other legislations that regulates the use of technology in providing services. In OMLaw, she handled various corporate matters including its operations and labor issues and applications for secondary permits with regulatory agencies, and mergers and acquisitions, and drafted pleadings for administrative, civil, and criminal cases.
Particularly, in corporate law, she ensured that the annual reports and other required documents of the clients are filed with the proper regulatory agency and prepared the necessary documents for proof of its meetings. Furthermore, she assisted in the preparation of legal opinions for corporate restructuring, and for other commercial and labor issues. In aviation law, she assisted clients in securing permits from the Civil Aeronautics Board and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines for its scheduled and/or chartered flights. She also assisted a client in renewing its certificate of public necessity and convenience. For mergers and acquisitions, she assisted in the preparation of the necessary documents for the reporting of the purchase or sale of the properties with various government agencies. For litigation, she worked closely with clients to gather information necessary for its preparation of pleadings for administrative, civil, and criminal cases.
Currently, Atty. Querido handles project development of renewable energy companies including the drafting of engineering, procurement and construction contracts, operations and maintenance contracts, power supply agreements, retail supply contracts, and development agreements and providing advice to clients on complying with energy policies issued by the Department of Energy, the Energy Regulatory Commission, and the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines.
