Vincent Patrick A. Bayhon is a Senior Partner of the firm.  His practice focuses on Litigation, Intellectual Property, Data Privacy, and Family Law.

Mr. Bayhon has acted as counsel in the numerous cases handled by the firm, involving civil, criminal, and administrative issues. Mr. Bayhon has appeared before the trial and appellate courts on many occasions and has experience in appearing also before the Department of Justice, Office of the Ombudsman and Sandiganbayan for anti-graft cases, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (“BSP”), the Mines and Adjudication Board, the Commission on Elections, the National Labor Relations Commission, the Insurance Commission, the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission, the National Labor Relations Commission, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines, and other Philippine quasi-administrative agencies involving various claims and issues.

Mr. Bayhon leads the firm’s Intellectual Property practice and has substantial experience in trademark registration, prosecution and maintenance, copyright and patent registrations.

Mr. Bayhon also heads the firm’s Data Privacy practice. Mr. Bayhon has advised entities on various issues and concerns regarding the Philippine Data Privacy Act. Mr. Bayhon has also spearheaded the firms audit and compliance services provided to clients with respect to the Philippine Data Privacy Act.

Mr. Bayhon’s engagements include:

  • Acted as counsel for one of the largest foreclosure proceedings for property located in a central business district
  • Acted as counsel for one of the biggest broadcasting companies in the Philippines in (i) a case involving termination of a service contract for breach of the contractor, (ii) a case for reckless imprudence as a result of multiple injuries and deaths from a stampede involving the broadcasting company’s executives and officers, (iii) cases for libel for and against the broadcasting company, and (iv) cases for copyright infringement
  • Represented one of the leading foreign manufacturers of motor vehicles in: (i) a suit for recovery of millions of pesos stolen by an employee, and (ii) a construction arbitration claim
  • Represented one of the most prestigious commercial land developers in the country in a multi-million peso damage and adverse claim involving its property in Manila, Philippines
  • Represented two of the largest power generation companies in various land claims
  • Represented one of the biggest retail and land development companies in questioning public biddings and negotiated agreements of purchase of large parcels of land and the location issues of the Common Station Terminal
  • Acted as counsel for one of the largest banks in (i) cases for qualified theft, (ii) foreclosure, (iii) money-laundering litigation and regulation, and (iv) BSP complaints and investigations
  • Acted as counsel in a case for securities fraud involving the take-over of a healthcare entity and nullification of share acquisitions
  • Acted as counsel for a wind farm energy corporation in the acquisition of right-of-way and expropriation of 2,000 lots for the wind farm and transmission line
  • Advised entities such as hospitals and healthcare providers, media and entertainment, conventional and online food and retail, real estate, telecommunications, energy, cement manufacturing and airlines companies on various issues and concerns regarding the Philippine Data Privacy Act
  • Advised clients on data security, storage, management, and usage and acted as counsel for the world’s foremost and largest medical transcription company for the recovery of illegally obtained confidential data from local entities and the nationwide investigation, audit, and prosecution of data breaches of data processed, which included the full recovery and destruction of illegally processed data
