As the aviation industry in the Philippines gains traction, PunoLaw is experiencing a similar upward thrust in its aviation practice. PunoLaw continuously interacts with foreign and domestic carriers in dealing with various regulatory matters and in shaping aviation policies.
We represent two foreign air carriers in obtaining regulatory approvals for scheduled passenger flights and ad hoc cargo flights from the Civil Aeronautics Board (“CAB”) and the Air Transportation Office (ATO), including filings with the said offices and appearances before the CAB. PunoLaw has obtained for a foreign air carrier an extension for 5 years of its Foreign Air Carrier Permit (FACP). We also represented that foreign air carrier with its negotiations with a Philippine air carrier relating to code-sharing arrangements.
PunoLaw has represented a domestic airline company in setting up its business and in obtaining regulatory approvals, including negotiating various aircraft lease agreements, aircraft maintenance and ground-handling agreements, and similar contracts.
Several companies engaged in aircraft maintenance and ground-handling services also engaged the firm for contracts related to their business operations. We represented a creditor bank in its due diligence over a purchase of an aircraft and lease of an aircraft.
PunoLaw is currently representing foreign air carriers in judicial actions relating to passenger claims.
