Insolvency and Financial Rehabilitation

PunoLaw’s insolvency and rehabilitation practice has gained traction since the early 2000’s when various companies were reeling from the devastating effects of the Asian financial crisis. PunoLaw continues to represent debtors or creditors in corporate and financial restructuring under a court-supervised rehabilitation and insolvency especially after the passage of the Financial Rehabilitation and Insolvency Act of 2010. The Supreme Court has also issued the Financial Rehabilitation Rules of Procedure in 2013 and the Financial Liquidation and Suspension Payments Rules of Procedure for Insolvent Debtors in 2015. These rules have provided greater clarity to the previous interim rules on corporate rehabilitation.

Among the most significant corporate rehabilitation proceedings handled by PunoLaw have resulted in the preservation and continuity of viable businesses which enabled debtor companies to service their loans and prevented loss of property, loss of employment, and loss of business.
